Biography
Michael worked with the Bellanet International Secretariat c/o the International Development Research Centre, based in Ottawa Canada, starting in 1996. During this time he initiated the creation of the International Development Markup Language (IDML), an XML-based standard for sharing project/activity information that was adopted by the World Bank’s Global Development Gateway Aida Initiative — later to become Aiddata.org. During that time, Michael helped many donor, foundation, and CSO’s implement the IDML standard. Currently, Michael is a trustee of the Global Knowledge Partnership Foundation, and has worked closely with the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) to help create their standard, as well as assisting with donor, foundation, and partner country pilots and implementations.
